TEATTERI

The all-year-round Ooppera Skaala is a professional company concentrating in contemporary opera, with the aim of developing and diversifying the art of opera in Finland. Ooppera Skaala's strengths are premieres, which are done with a qualified group of Finnish artists, as well as ordering compositions and librettos, and then producing and performing them in premieres. Skaala has achieved a permanent position as the performer, producer and commissioner of contemporary opera in Finland.

AUDITORIUM/STAGE

Ooppera Skaala does not have premises of its own. The company visits e.g. Aleksanterin teatteri and Kulttuuritehdas Korjaamo.

STAFF

Ooppera Skaala consists of 20–30 professionals from different fields. In addition to its member artists, Skaala also employs a number of guest artists. The staff are named for one production at a time to suit the demands of the particular production. Skaala's work is administered by the board of Ooppera Skaala, whose members in 2009 are:
