THEATRE

Q-teatteri ry is a professional theatre founded by freelance actors. The theatre produces performances and cultural events one production at a time. Each production employs its own staff, primarily our freelance theatre professional members. Q-teatteri's repertoire consists of two annual premieres.

Q-teatteri's leading idea is to advance new theatre work and create employment opportunities for artists working outside communal and national institutions, as well as to widen the broader public's view on theatre and its possibilities. The theatre also aims at breaking boundaries between theatre companies and institutional theatres. In the past years Q-teatteri has grown into a multifaceted theatric centre, who aside from Finnish premieres has produced several classics, radio play series and film performances. Q-teatteri has also organized the international Baltic Circle Theatre Festival six times.

Q-teatteri has grown into a cultural influence which, by its own example, has proven that even a small theatre can have a big significance in the cultural life of Finland. Q-teatteri has always gladly taken up the dare, especially when the task has seemed simply impossible.

Q-teatteri's big hall has approximately 200 seats. The auditorium is rising and unnumbered. Puoli-Q's auditorium has approx. 40 seats. (Available for guest performances.)

CAFETERIA

The cafeteria is open for one hour before each show and also during the intermission. There you'll find both salty and sweet pastries, coffee, tea and refreshments. The cafeteria has a liquor license. We accept both cash and credit cards.
